One-off assessments
Sometimes schools only want one assessment to help them understand a student in more depth, to help them utilise the amazing resources that they already have in place in their setting and plan for the next steps they need to put in place to help the student. We offer single assessments, enhanced assessments and complex assessments, so that you never have to spend more money than you need to get a high-quality report that draw and accurate picture of he pupil's needs and provides you with highly-personalised recommendations.
Single Assessment
Our most popular option- these assessments offer 3 hrs of planning, assessment and direct work with a pupil as well as 3 hrs of report writing and recording. You will gain a clear picture of:
-
school-based assessment and intervention work
-
needs identified by outside professionals
-
school, home and pupil views
You will also gain further detailed information about one additional area of need;
-
Play, Cognition and Learning;
-
Social, Emotional and Mental Health;
-
Speech, Language and Communication; or
-
Physical, Sensory and Medical needs.
The report will include a summary of the main findings and key issues as well as targeted recommendations.ons.
Enhanced Assessment
This assessment is most useful when there are multiple professionals involved and two areas of need. It offers 9 hours of Educational Psychologist time, allowing for detailed assessment.
As well as the summary of the work done so far to make sense of the pupil's needs both in-school and by external professionals, and work to find out the pupil and their parents views, the psychologist will have time to undertake dynamic or standardised assessments into two or more areas of need.
The report will include a formulation of the pupil's strengths and areas where they need support, explaining how these different factors impact on the pupil's learning, as well as highly personalised recommendations that build on your school offer.
Complex Assessment
This assessment is most useful when the child has multiple areas of need, and involvement from many different outside agencies over many years, but there is still an incomplete, muddled or contradictory understanding of the pupil's needs.
It is also useful when the pupil has:
-
had no outside agency involvement, and the school does not feel that their plan, do, review process can offer any further useful information
-
the pupil has not been attending school for more than two weeks.
It involves 12 hours of educational Psychologist time, which enables in-depth review of previous paperwork and detailed assessment of at least two areas of need as well as liaison with multiple professionals, as well as consultation with school staff, parents and direct work with the pupil to gain their views.
The report will include a detailed formulation of the pupil's needs, summarising the finding of a range of professionals and integrating them with the psychologists findings, as well as specific, quantified recommendations to meet those needs.
