information when you have an assessment with us or when you visit our website.

You might want to read through this policy with an adult.

 

About us

We are Educational Psychology Services for Schools, and we are the owners of the website you are using and the practice providing an assessment about you and your time at school. We are in charge of keeping your information safe.

 

What is privacy?

When we talk to you about your privacy, we are talking about information about you and what we do with it.

 

What if you’re not happy with us?

A government body called the Information Commissioner’s Office (‘ICO’) makes sure we follow all the rules. If you don’t think we are following the rules, you can speak to them with the help of an adult here. Although, we’d be happy to hear from you before you speak to them.  To get in touch with us you can email us using this email address: contact@edpsychschool.com

 

What data do we collect about you? 

We promise to only collect data about you that we need to provide our assessments and to make our website work properly. Some examples of the data we might collect about you are:

 

We only collect the information we need to help you. That could be:

• Your name and birthday

• School info – like attendance or support you've had

• Health info – if it's useful for your assessment

• Device details – like what kind of computer or phone you use on our website

 

We collect health data about you during our assessment sessions, so we can help you.  We will always ask you if this is ok before doing this.

 

When do we collect your personal data?

Remember, if you are under 13, your parents must give us permission to collect your data. Here are some examples:

• You or your grown-up give it to us

• Your school or doctor shares it (with permission!)

• Your device shares info when you use our website

 

Cookies help websites work better. They're not food – they're tiny helpers that remember things like:

• What pages you looked at

• What you clicked on

• What makes the website easier for you

 

You can ask your grown-up to change cookie settings. Some cookies help the site run properly – so blocking them may hide cool features!

 

We might need to collect your data because the law says so, or because of an agreement we have with you. If you don’t provide this, we might not be able to carry out our side of the agreement.

 

Why do we collect your personal data?

We collect your personal data so we can:

• To carry out one of our assessments for you

• To help and support you with your learning at school

• To run our practice and make sure our website works for you

 

Sometimes, we will ask you if it is ok to collect this data beforehand, especially if the data is sensitive – like about your health. Most importantly, we always work to keep your personal data safe. This makes it less likely that your data will be accidentally lost, used, changed or seen when it shouldn’t be.

 

How do we use your personal data?

We only collect your data when the law says it is ok to. Here are some examples:

• Where we need your data to make our website the best it can be so we can give you the best experience.

• Where your information has to be shared for a good reason for our or other’s business

• Where the law says we need to.

Sometimes, we might think that we need to use your personal data for another reason than we collected it. This doesn’t happen a lot, but if it does, we will tell you and explain why, unless we are told to do this without telling you by the law.

 

Artificial Intelligence Usage

Lots of companies are using smart computer helpers called AI to help us do their jobs better. These helpers can do things like look at lots of information, help us write things, or answer questions. Educational Psychology Services for Schools does not use these tools yet. We might in the future. If we do, we will change this policy.

 

Do we ever share your personal data?

Sometimes—but only when:

• The law says we must

• We're working with trusted helpers like your school or GP

• We work with tech teams who help our website run well

 

They all promise to keep your information safe.

 

Do we ever transfer your data to different countries?

Sometimes—but only with countries the UK says are safe.  We make special agreements to keep your info protected.

How long will you keep my personal data?

We only keep your data for as long as we need it to provide our assessment services to you, or for other reasons like legal, accounting or reporting rules we need to follow.

Usually, we keep your data until your 25th birthday.

We make sure your data is kept safely and we have security measures in place to protect it.

 

What are my rights?

You have rights under data protection laws. You can always ask us:

• To see a copy of the information we have about you

• To change the information we have about you

• To delete the information we have about you

• To not use your personal data

• To ask us only to use your personal data in a certain way

• To move your data to somebody else

 

If you want to ask us to do something with your personal data, then please ask a grown-up who can contact us for you. There are more instructions for them to follow in our Adult Privacy Policy.

 

Changes

We might change this policy from time to time. We last changed this in August 2025.  Please let us know if any of your information changes.
